The French Spot Patisserie is an independent, artisanal family bakery founded by husband-and-wife duo Vincent Attali and Maria Zapata.
Vincent is a French-American, second-generation pastry chef with over 15 years in Michelin-starred restaurants and high-end pastry shops. His blend of French tradition and Asian flavors gives the best of both: the Mochicro.
Maria is a talented artist and pastry chef, and the creative heart of The French Spot. She designed our logo and painted the murals and artwork in our shops. Maria takes inspiration from her childhood in the Dominican Republic and infuses tropical flavors into our menu, from our guava cream danishes to mango passion cream croissants.
Born in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill, our bakery grew with the love of our community. In December 2025, we opened a second location in Concord. As locals, we built the neighborhood bakery we felt was missing: sourdough warm from the oven, the scent of butter and croissants in the morning, and pastries made entirely from scratch.
Since the French Spot is a true family effort, you can often find our teenage kids behind the counter on weekends.
Together, our family and staff take classic French technique and add creativity and heart, baking savory and sweet pastries, desserts, and custom artistic cakes fresh each day.
